Falling in love with plants

I have not always been a very successful plant lover. I have owned and killed quite a few plants in my life with only the really tough ones like mother-in-laws tongue and aspidistras surviving life in my home. It wasn't that I was always neglectful; sometimes I would shower plants with attention and still they would slowly wither away. So it wasn't a lack of desire to look after them but rather lack of knowing how to care for them that was the problem. And that was despite reading lots on the subject!

The last few years has been revolutionary for me. Like someone flipped a switch in my head and suddenly I 'got it'. My garden and house are now filled with happy healthy plants and I'm rapidly creating my own little urban jungle. The satisfaction and peace of I get from looking after plants can't be over-stated. It really is healing.
