Hi my name is Rex and today i will be talking about raptors. There were many types of raptors but all incredibly dangerous!
Let's start in USA with Utahraptor, my personal favourite! It was 5 to 7m long and it weighed 450 to 900kg. It hunted in packs like most raptors so it could bring down giant sauropods like Seaterasaurus. It was the biggest raptor that hunted in packs to ever be discovered. Unlike the Gigantaraptor that was so big it hunted solo.

Remaining in the USA we have Deinonychus. It weighed 75kg and its length was 3m. Like Utahraptor it hunted in packs. It may have eaten Seaterasaurus as well because it lived in the same place and time as the Utahraptor, which was the early Cretaceous.
Moving on to Canada there is Dromeasaurus. It lived in the late Cretaceous period. It weighed 15kg and was 2m long. It would have hunted Corythosaurus and Edmontosaurus which means it probably would have to compete with Albertosaurus the top predator.
Finally in Mongolia you would have found the best know raptor the Velociraptor. Despite what they looked like in Jurassic World and Jurassic Park Velociraptors were actually the height of a turkey! They were about 2m long though. It hunted small mammals, lizards and Protoceratops a small Ceratopsian. They may NOT have hunted in packs because they would have most of the time hunted lizards and mammals which aren’t hard prey to catch.
What do you think of raptors? Do you have a favourite type? Comment below and let me know what other dinosaurs would you like me to do posts on.
